Nothing in this blog can be believed. If you think that anything in this blog is true or factual, you'll need to verify it from another source. Do you understand? No? Then read it again, and repeat this process, until you understand that you cannot sue me for anything you read here. Also, having been sucked into taking part in the mass-murder of more than 3 million Vietnamese people on behalf of U.S. Big Business "interests", I'm as mad as a cut snake (and broke) so it might be a bit silly to try to sue me anyway...

Cardinal Pell's telling porkies again...

Watching the ABC's QandA tonight, Cardinal George Pell, climate skeptic, admirer of Tony Abbott, all round truth teller about things like non-existent gods, etc, had this gem of wisdom for the True Believers:

"Hitler killed fifty million in WWII." (Or words to that effect.)

What a load of cobblers.

I needn't go on, except if you're so stupid that you can't see the crap that the Cardinal is speaking, in which case, you can ask for clarification via the "comments" facility of this blog.

Oh, and another thing... In case you were wondering, a poll taken during the show indicated that 76% of respondents did NOT think that having religious beliefs made the world a better place.

Says it all, really...

Wow! So it was actually Hitler, striking from beyond the grave, who dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Why aren't there conspiracist blogs all over the place about this?

Cardinal Pell is the model for a fascinating character in my next novel, ha ha ha! Out of touch, outright fibber and out of his god-bothering mind.

In his fib, Pell was employing a well-used stunt whereby the country or leader being blamed for a war is then also blamed for all of the killing on all sides. It's cunning old fallacy of logic useful for avoiding responsibility for one's own murderous actions.

e.g. Applying what will henceforth be called the Pell Fallacy, Hitler was responsible for the fire-bombing of Dresden. Very convenient for the Allies.

Another cunning use of this fallacy is to blame Ho Chi Minh for all of the deaths caused by the US bombing of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and in fact Pell might say that all of the four million killed in that conflict were down to Ho Chi Minh. By far the biggest killers in that conflict, the US, get to walk a way looking squeaky clean.

But if your local cop, being shot at by a crook, killed several bystanders in the process of trying to shoot the crook, I doubt
the courts would buy the line "the crook made me do it."
